Kennedy Catholic High School(米国)

  • Don’t Give Up on Study Abroad

Due to the corona virus, it is a very scary and unpredictable time throughout the entire world.??Many questions and concerns are arising in international student’s minds that planned to study abroad in 2020 and the future.??Questions like, how will I get my visa if the embassy is closed? Is it safe???Will school be closed?

Of course, its difficult to guarantee anything during these uncertain times, but the one thing I can say to help you during this decision-making process is; our U.S. schools are taking all the necessary precautions to guarantee safety for their students.??They follow the CDC guidelines and their specific state data to ensure the decisions they make are what’s best for their students and families.??Measures include hygiene and medical monitoring, frequent sanitation, social distancing, revised meal schedules, medical clearance and Isolation protocols for returning students and more.??You’re safety is their number one concern.

On 5/18 Florida went into phase 1 of reopening the state.??This means restaurants, libraries, gyms, and beaches are able to reopen, with safety measures of social distancing and increased sanitation. For each phase we enter, our Florida schools have a plan.??Phase 1- schools will remain virtual, Phase 2- there will be a combination of both virtual and in-person classes, Phase 3, schools return to full in person classes.??Each state has a similar plan to ensure student safety.

In general, our U.S. schools and your personal international advisor are very understanding and flexible with international students during this unprecedented time.??They will ensure you have the support and guidance needed to arrive safely, as soon as possible.

It is understandable to have concerns during this time, but traveling abroad is a life-changing, mind opening experience that can truly enhance every area of your life.? It allows you to immerse yourself in other cultures and in another language. With effort, it may even help you enter the college of your dreams,? which could lead to a career you're truly passionate about.??If studying abroad in America is your dream, don’t let this opportunity pass you by.??Now can still be the right time for you.??We must not let fear stop us from following our dreams.?

  • To all Japanese students of all ages and levels considering studying in the US, Oregon State University welcomes you and will support you throughout your academic career.

There are a few pivotal moments in a life. Decisions that change the path a person takes in a fundamental way; marriage, moving to a new city or country and, of course, choosing a university. I want to talk briefly about that last one. This year has been rough, it has changed all of our lives in so many ways, but for those of you who are deciding whether to start your degree, don’t let COVID-19 get in the way of your dreams. There is some uncertainty around study abroad at this time because of the disease, but I want to assure you that even if you have to start your program online and transition to face to face in a future term, it’s not worth losing a whole year. We only have so many.

For those of you who might questions the value or quality of online education, remember this: the instructors who are teaching you understand nuclear fission, can map the human genome and are in the process of stopping coronavirus with a vaccine that will eliminate its threat forever. They are some of the smartest people on the planet so they can figure out ways and methods and use technology to make sure you get the best experience possible. Here at Oregon State University, we have been doing online education since 2002. In that time we have developed over 4000 unique online classes. Each one is filmed in our studio that has technology to bring the content alive. We use tools like green screens, animations and virtual reality to take students out into the field so they get the same theory and practicality they would in a face to face class. In some ways it can be even more interactive because we film all of the content beforehand and that allows the professors to spend all of their time working with students rather than delivering content.

We here at Oregon State University are fully ready to have students on campus for fall term with some modifications to make sure we keep our students and faculty as safe as possible. We are just as eager for you to start your degree as you are, but because of embassy closures and travel restrictions it might mean you can’t come this fall. Rest assured we will take care of you this time and promise to keep you on track to an on-time graduation. Don’t delay your dreams, don’t let COVID ruin you plans, don’t let the virus win.

  • Don’t Give Up on Study Abroad

A number of challenges in our world today make study abroad more difficult: COVID-19, travel restrictions, limited flights and uncertainty regarding visas are a few of those challenges.

These challenges also make study abroad much more important.

An education at most any college or university in Japan will provide you with the knowledge and skills that you need for the career that you are pursuing. Study abroad provides you with additional experiences and skills that are essential in facing the challenges of our world.

The additional learning opportunities provided by study abroad are important for all areas of study. They include:

Language learning in context: The best way to learn a language is to apply the language skills you learned in class with native speakers. Study abroad provides you the opportunity to increase your language skills in class, on campus, and in the areas around campus.

Direct encounter with other cultures: Study abroad provides the opportunity to directly experience other cultures and develop the skills required to work effectively across cultures. Along with understanding the culture of the host country, you will also encounter the cultures of students from other countries. You will understand more clearly the unique contributions that Japanese culture has to offer the world.

Building global relationships: Study abroad will provide you with relationships with professors, student life staff, and other students from around the world. These relationships can remain strong well beyond college, providing connections to resources and opportunities across national boundaries throughout your career.

Those of us who work at Hesston College and other colleges and universities in the United State are concerned about your health and safety. We are here to support your academic success that will prepare you for a successful career.

The additional learning experiences from study abroad are important as we face current and future global challenges. Global challenges require global responses. Study abroad is one step in building a strong global response to our global challenges.

Assistant Director of Recruitment
Mr. Mike Gavin
  • Hello and welcome to all students considering studying at UEA from 2021 and the future.

As you know these have been difficult weeks for all of us across the world, however here at INTO UEA we have not let this get us down and continue to strive to deliver a top experience for all our current students still with us in centre and students considering studying with us in the future.

Currently we still have over 100 International students who have been staying with us in centre, living, learning and continuing to study online with their tutors. As you may know we have an excellent reputation for teaching, research and student satisfaction, and UEA is an internationally recognised university that has always had a strong international student community.

As yet we have had no cases of the Covid virus, and we continue to monitor and safeguard all our students still staying with us this year. We are providing cooked meals to all students staying in centre and deep cleaning takes part everyday by our support teams. The City of Norwich has one of the lowest numbers of reported Covid cases in the UK. As part of our health provision we have the Norfolk and Norwich emergency Hospital on the South side of the campus and the Science Research Park is at the forefront of International research in trying to combat the virus and researching the way ahead to provide a vaccine. Next to the centre is the University Medical centre with GP doctors available for our students alongside a Pharmacy. Our student support team are available 24 hours a day to assist our students with any medical issues that may arise.

Over the past decade, INTO students have played a significant role at UEA ? benefitting from a vibrant academic, social and cultural experience which we have continued to provide even in these difficult times. We still have an enhanced experience with our academic staff working with students online providing top class tuition alongside our student support team providing support and 24-hour care in the centre. We may have to start degrees this September online, however this will not be a disadvantage, in fact learning to operate in a digital world will help students in the future workplace environment. The degree award at the end will be identical to those studied on campus in the past.

This will revert back to the fantastic on campus experience by the first term in 2021, and will of course be investigating new ways in making this as safe as possible by ensuring the very highest safe social distancing protocols are at the heart of the experience, to ensure that it will not detract from the overall experience for our future students.

The INTO Centre is the heart of the international student community and supports a diverse range of nationalities with effective teaching methods, nurturing staff and an undeniable family feel. INTO takes the amazing potential that its students have and prepares them for further success at UEA and this will continue next year in 2021 and beyond.

In summary we at INTOUEA look forward to welcoming you to our centre here near the beautiful and safe City of Norwich and helping you fulfil your educational dreams.
